Beginning Orchestra
All students in Grades 3-6 who have completed Minuet 1 or equivalent and the "I Can Read Music" or similar sight reading book.  All students in orchestra must be enrolled in private, in person lessons.  

Intermediate Orchestra
Grades 4-6 and completion of Suzuki Book 1 or equivalent, 1 year in Beginning Orchestra at RAS or equivalent if a transfer student, “I can Read Music” or similar sight reading book.  All students in orchestra must be enrolled in private lessons.


Con Brio
Grades 6-8.  6th graders must be in Suzuki Book 4 or equivalent and audition to join Con Brio. All students in orchestra must be enrolled in private lessons.


Mrs. Carpenter begin  her violin studies at the age of 5, at Rogers Adventist School, in the then new Strings Program,  under the tutelage of Kathleen Spring. While in college Mrs. Carpenter taught in the string program at Walla Walla University. She graduated in 2000 with a dual major in Music and Theology from Walla Walla University.   Mrs. Carpenter had active private studios in Austin, Texas and Seattle, Washington prior to moving to Walla Walla in the fall of 2014.  Mrs. Carpenter has served on the Board of Directors for the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has served as the Director of the Japan Seattle Suzuki Institute.  She also has an MA in Old Testament from the Adventist Theological Seminary and an MA in Hebrew Language and Literature from the University of Texas at Austin.
