What Floats My Boat...

When you take a peek in the classroom you may find students working on written reports, peer teaching, role playing Bible characters,  or painting mummies as they travel through Egypt.  My goal is to blend hands-on activities with strong academics.

About Me...

I was born in the Hoosier state and enjoyed working and playing in my grandfather's general store and spending time with my grandmother learning to make pies and hearing stories of Jesus.  My siblings and other family still live in the Midwest.

My husband Dan and I have three grown kids. Dan is a pastor at the Village SDA Church here in College Place.  Jonathan is married and teaching history this year at an academy in California. Jonathan and his wife, Melissa have three children. David is a teacher at Berney Elementary. His wife, Jaci is a pastor at the University Church.  They have two little girls. Our daughter, Heather, and her husband, Vince and two children live in Nashville, TN. where she is a dental assistant.

In my "spare" time I like to read, sew, take walks, and talk about our grandchildren.

It has been my goal to teach since the time I was in first grade and now I have been teaching for 30+ years and have taught everything from kindergarten to college classes.

I graduated from Southern College with a B.S. in Elementary Education and earned an M.S. in language education, from Indiana University.
